There are thousands of drugs just a click away. But the internet is not without risks. Know the precautions to take before buying medications online. Find out! 

Buying online is now a convenience and often a way to save money. In the case of health, purchasing a medicine on the internet can be cheaper and more appealing, but it can also be illegal and, above all, be harmful to your health.

DANGERS ON THE LOOK

Worldwide, including in Portugal, there are two realities of selling medicines online. Those that result from direct sales, on the official page of a pharmacy or authorised place, and that act with the same rules as on a street shop. The real dangers arise from buying health products on unlicensed sites and not regulated by the competent authorities. 

In fact, there are no guarantees here that the products on sale comply with pharmacovigilance rules, opening the door for the sale of forged or counterfeit products, or even having their composition or expiration date changed. Consequently, it increases the risk that the medicine will not produce the intended effect or cause unexpected side effects.
